Eryk's Flute Making Story:
"It was year 2007 when I was in Davao Philippines taking Leadership Training School. During our siesta, I saw and picked up a dirty, small piece of bamboo as I was walking along the brook. I started to have this desire to make a flute but I had two problems at that time. First is that I don't know how to make that instrument and second, I don't know how to play. So I took it home with me and decided to start the flute making process anyway, just to maybe give it a try. I cleaned the bamboo with water and removed the small branches. Then I took the pointed metal rod, heated it up until it turned red then used it to make the holes of the flute. God also reminded me about my guitar tuner. I used it to tune my flutes to make sure that it's all in standard tune.
I thank God for teaching me how to make a flute. My other problem was that I didn't know how to play the flute. As I was practicing, my wife heard me blowing my flute and guess what? She made a request. She said, "Can you stop playing? It's annoying!" Because she was taking a nap at that time. It was not a good request but I thought of it as a challenge. I made sure that I have at least fifteen to thirty minutes a day for my practice. I used it everyday to express my worship to God in a place that I can be alone with God. I felt that The Lord is telling me that I am that little bamboo. He found me and took me in His workshop. He cleansed me by His blood and forgive all my sins like taking away all the tiny branches that hinders His plan. Then He put purpose in my life by creating a mouthpiece in the flute. Now I am not just making handmade musical instruments. These instruments are my tools not just to raise support for my family, but most of all to share God's love to the nations."
